I have a 2021 yz450f and it’s beginning to have a hard time starting and idle when cold

Hi Donnie, I've been enjoying watching your videos! I'm new to dirt bikes but not motorcycles (I road race sports bikes). I'm looking at the 20/21 and the 22/23 yz250fx's and I know that you have both. Is the 22+ considerably better in your opinion? And is the extra cost of a 22 worth it? Thanks in advance and keep getting better!

The clip of all those people on the course is ridiculous. I race with the Oklahoma Cross Country Racing Association, and I have never seen people do like that. Most all people here are pretty considerate of the racers.

I need to change the piston and rings on my yz250fx. Do you have a video for that?

Glad to hear you are on the mend. I really enjoy watching your videos. Are you concerned that the 2025 FX will have less bottom end torque? That seems to be the reports on the '24 motocross bike that it will be based on (250F)? Maybe not as much of a concern for GNCC style racing?

I just need a lock on my carrier for peace of mind. I have the sport model with normal antiwobble and I use retractable ratchet straps way better option for bike tie down. great video

Hi Donnie, I know this is an older video..but I was wondering if you remember the feel of the Xcop cartridge setup you had installed in The XC150...I have a GPX TSE300L that has 48mm Xplor copy forks and I ride on a MX track . The forks are just to soft for it, they have had springs replaced and stiffer valving, only to still bottom often and go through the stroke to much. So I was wondering if you remember the compression adjustment giving you better bottoming resistance and better hold up. Thanks 😁👍

I recently bought a ‘24 YZ250FX. It’s my first bike and I still have less than 10 hours on it, but I love it so far. Great power, suspension feels good, very fun to ride overall.

I couldn't agree more on the stock suspension. It's valved way too stiff for off road, especially out west where you run into tons of rock washes. I couldn't believe how much stiffer the 21FX is VS my Yz250x.

FYI the manual (at least for a KTM 150) says the gap in the wrist circlip needs to point forward or backward, not up or down.

Question; Is there an option on the Rad Rover 6 UI to change tire size? I can't seem to find it!!! Thanks!

What is the exact exhaust model did you used?

I’m getting a 24 250fx on Tuesday and I’m kinda nervous because I’ve heard they have problems starting and rod bearing problems have you had any problems

thanks Donnie I just got me a 2024 yz250fx I just got done with the break in part I am going to warm it up today and change the oil I am new to Dirtbike racing in trail racing coming off of my Honda TRX 450R I chose the 250 over the 450 YZ because I just feel like a 250 is more then enough power. and I am thankful. I did the Jason rains Yamaha Demo Ride last weekend road the 250FX and I liked it so much I did not even get on the 450YZ I am a B level racer on a ATV but this is totally different It might take me a little while to get use to it I will probably run C class Definity not D class until I get use to the balance of the bike and get use to the tighter trails on dirt bikes and then I will move back up I am 46 years old I will ride the North Carolina hare scramble series. this is a new chapter for me it will be race number 279 when I start in 2025 Part time about five races a year I am done with winning championships I have 4 all together 3 in Dirt bike Motocross 92 93 on a 1988 Yamaha YZ 125 and 95 I had a 94 Honda CR 250 and switched to ATVs in fall of 95 and 97 I won the 4 stroke B championship on a 92 TRX 250 X so I raced every 4 stroke ATV Honda ever made thats the Crazy part 300 EX 400EX and the 450R stayed of ATVs until Now I have a combined 46 wins in everything looking forward to it .I remember Scott Summers I use to love watching him Man handle that Big XR 600 in those Tight GNCC Trails back in the day LOL

I haven't worn anything with water in it since my early days of racing. It's not that I don't appreciate it. I just know that I can make it through without taking a drink. I'd rather keep up the pace than fumble with getting water and looking like a dork.

Any issues with the rack covering the license plate?

On your topic of starting, the best finish I've ever had in a big class is a third place. That race, my bike didn't start first kick. I left the line dead last in a class of 13 to 14 people. I worked my way through the pack with diligence and consistency to my first podium finish. Starts don't matter when the goal is endurance.
